Rejected Northwestern Early decision.
Ouch.
Very depressing. Good luck to my fellow ED-ers out there...

It sucks when you know you'll be the one kid who didn't get into any good schools...

What are your stats? If you post them, CCers might be able to analyze them for you.

Yeah, throw us your stats. Sorry to hear about your rejection.

jerod

stop that stupid 'jerod' at the end.

haha me too man.

What other schools are you looking at?

me...U. Mich, Dartmouth, UPenn, NYU, UMD, and Hopkins

I'm looking for more safety schools..perhaps wisconsin or psu

If you haven't already applied to Wisconsin, that could be tough (regardless of stats).

I've applied to wisconsin a month ago.. still no response.

I'm a lurker of this board...so depressing. I'm sorry to all non-acceptees, but rejectees in particular. I can't help but read all these decisions, yet at the same time, it's so depressing. Like watching a car accident.

your a lurker??you have freaking 2009 posts!(1500 more than me) you are no way a lurker...

I am a lurker on the northwestern boards...I am a devoted columbia board poster, but it is now a dead board it appears

and REJECTED!

Rejected from NU? What????

Did you apply to Medill or WCAS?

the fact that you got rejected is NUTS. College admissions is ********, dude. Don't feel too bad about it.

Your EC's are kinda bad, and your rank is OK, but I still think you have a great shot at other schools all over the nation. Most people(myself included) would kill(figuratively speaking) for a 1530 and/or a 36 ACT(a perfect score!!!!!!!!). That's awesome man, really. Don't get upset about NU. You probably should get out of Chicago to get a real college experience, anyways.

For scholarships, especially for a 7 year med program, George Washington University in DC could be a great safety school for you, and it has an awesome program for that. Also, you stand a good shot at a scholarship there. University of Miami has this option also, I believe.

Also, all the top schools, including the ivies are possibilities for you. Instead of going overboard with reaches, though, I recommend applying to more matches like Vanderbilt University, Rice University, Emory University, Boston College, Wake Forest University, NYU, Michigan, John Hopkins, or University of Southern California.

damn rejected with a 36 ACT...wtf.

36 reading, not a 36 composite.
