Rejected - Now what?

Applied to Rutgers Camden - Arts & Sciences, and their new Business program. Looked online today and - rejected. Thought I was a pretty good match - problem is I'm OSS. ACT 24, SATs 510, 490, 530, GPA 3.1.

What can I do now? Is there any way to re-apply - not that my SATs or anything would change.

I really wanted to go there . . . now what? Don't want to go to state schools - they're all out in the middle of no where. Any suggestions on a school thats in an urban area (applied Drexel & Temple but know they're a reach).

Have you tried rutgers newark?

what about Pitt, La Salle, or Duquesne?

NJIT..

and why would you want to go to Camden? Newark is at least close to NY

Choose Camden because it's close to home - but not too close. Also loved the proximity to The Tweeter Center, the harbor and Philadelphia.

Just really disappointed, it had everything I was looking for. Smaller size, urban area, and a specific business school so I wouldn't have to do two years of non specific courses.

Do they ever reconsider?

I'm not sure if many oos people know this, but camden... is really not a nice place to live. You'd might as well go to college in the city, because from what I've heard that's where a lot of Rutgers Camden people hang out anyway.

I'd recommend Drexel, Temple, St. Joes, and maybe Ursinus (it's a few hours out from philly- your stats might be a bit low for it though, mine were higher than yours last year and I got rejected). If you don't mind going in Jersey, there's also Rowan in south jersey and Rider, which is near Trenton, I think.

I think you can appeal a decision. I'm not sure how it works, but I know a girl in my independent study class did it last year to a college (not rutgers) and was successful, although she wound up going to another school anyway. I think you have the best chance if your scores are higher than the school's average.

What do you do now? Move on, and apply to a few other schools.

I don't think Drexel is too much of a reach for you. They accept like 75% of applicants, and your stats aren't far off what they look for.
