My mom and I were talking about what I need to do to tell colleges I wasn't attending, and I came up with the idea to rework one of my rejection letters such that it was like rejecting the college. Harvard's was readily available in the email. I think this will sound very mean and inappropriate, but ironically it is a near identical image of what is sent to us (I only had to change 15-20 words). Hope you find it amusing... :)

NOTE: I will not be sending this to any colleges and this is mere fun, so accept it as the parody that it is. :)

Dear *********** University,

I am very sorry to inform you that it is not possible for me to accept your offer of admission to the Class of 2010. I wish I were writing to report a different decision, but the quality of schools I was accepted to was so rigorous this year that there were many outstanding universities and colleges to whom I could not offer my presence in their class.

Nearly eight universities accepted me to the entering class. The great majority of the universities could certainly have been satisfying academically, and most candidates presented strong personal and extracurricular opportunities as well. I was, therefore, faced with the necessity of choosing a college from a great many more talented and highly qualified universities than I had room to attend.

I wish it was possible for me to accept more of my fine colleges, and I understand how difficult the college admissions process can be for admissions officers and their families. While I conducted my deliberations with the utmost care, I know that no one can predict with certainty what college will allow an individual to accomplish most during college or beyond. Past experience suggests that the particular student a college accepts is far less important than what the college does to develop its strengths and talents over the next four years.

I very much appreciate the interest you have shown in me. I hope that you will accept my best wishes for success in all your future endeavors.

Sincerely,
