<p>Around 12 people I know from my school got rejected. Someone here with a 2300+ ELC got rejected! And not so many accepted

<p>Hang in there everyone–My D also got rejected. She is crushed. I spoke to adcom and was told that they accepted 52% compared to 58% last year</p>

<p>I’m in the same boat as you. I wanted to go to UC Davis sooooo badly, but I found out a couple of hours ago that they rejected me. I feel really disappointed and disheartened. I hope we’ll both be able to pull through somehow.</p>
<p>Okay guys, today I was hit with a bomb. </p>
<p>Here’s my stats:
2070 SAT I 750 Chem SATII 700 Math II SATII
3.5 weighted GPA,
few extracurriculars (About an hour a week, and did 2 sports for one year each)</p>
<p>So…How could this have happened? I mean, I dunno Davis was my safety school. I’m seriously contemplating appealing, but…I mean if I was rejected by Davis. Could it be possible that they rejected me at Davis because I got accepted somewhere else? I’ve heard rumors.</p>
<p>I had a bad cough, so I came home from school early today. I was going to go back after lunch. I decided to check my Davis status. Rejected. So much for school. I sat in the kitchen staring at my cup of tea for about an hour. </p>
<p>I still can’t believe it. I thought I had a really good chance of getting in. I’m in the middle of the pack, based on all their stats. Like many of you have said, people with much lower stats than me were accepted. </p>
<p>Davis was my top choice. Its the only school I can really picture myself in. My parents went there too. So maybe I’ll appeal. I can always transfer later. </p>
<p>And I did get into Irvine, so those of you who haven’t heard, there is hope. But the dreams for UCSD are shot now, I guess. Anyone heard of people getting rejected from Davis but getting in there? I don’t even want to check my SB status. </p>
<p>My advice~nature. Go take a walk. Lie in the grass and listen to the birds. Let the wind brush your cheeks and be thankful for what you have.</p>

<p>What? Really? I thought if you had ELC, that guaranteed you a spot at Davis! At least, that is what my UC Davis ELC letter told me.</p>

<p>ELC means you will get into ONE UC, probably.
But you needed to check off more than one on the app.</p>
<p>If you checked off 3 on the app, you will get 1.</p>
<p>If you checked off 1, you <em>might</em> get it, but the guarantee is gone.</p>
<p>Just IMHO the way we read the ELC stuff.</p>
<p>sooo does being rejected from Davis mean an automatic rejection from Berkelely? *** is up with Davis? it’s such bull crap…it was my safety school too and i feel like i got rejected to prom or something. like hey i don’t want to go with you, but the guy’s the one who’s like “i didn’t EVEN want to go with you in the first place”. i jinxed myself and Davis…lol. but you get the point. what’s up with this?</p>

<p>They’re alright stats. But yeah, that’s what I though. I mean, I thought UC Davis was supposed to be the UCI safety school of northern California. This basically cuts any shots I had at anything above Irvine. I guess the selectiveness has increased greatly this year.
But that doesn’t matter. As long as Irvine pulls through, that’s all that I care about. Thanks for the hope playdohlove.</p>

<p>3.7 GPA. 2290 SAT. Rejected. What. The. ****. An appeal wouldn’t do much good, since I’ve actually done worse since I applied.</p>

<p>It pretty much <strong><em>ing sucks. I don’t know about you guys - but I had been planning on going to Davis for a long time. None of this safety or fallback </em></strong>** - Davis was my first choice, I would’ve gone there and loved it instead of these people who hate Davis, think it’s a cowtown, apply anyway, get in, turn it down and then hurt the yield.</p>

<p>But woah. If those are UC GPA’s, then I’m extremely suprised. That’s pretty steep to reject applicants that have somewhat of a shot at UCSD.</p>

<p>Haha, I think I’m relative to a lot of people here when I say Davis was safety net not a goal…this scares the **** out of me for the higher UC’s</p>
<p>Someone I know was rejected with a 2000 SAT and 4.2 UC GPA.
