Ahh not fair apple. Congrats tho!

i think that the main reason i was rejected was because of the 2 missing pre-reqs…even though i was told numerous times that it would not be held against me because none of the CCs in my area offer those courses. =(

from the UCLA appeals site:
All transfer admission is based on the completion of the major-specific preparation courses and a competitive GPA.

I also got rejected.

Major: Political Science
IGETC: Complete
Prerequisites: Took only one because that was the only one offered at my community college. Would that be a reason for rejection?

apple, this is the rejections thread haha. post acceptances on the appropriate thread.

extention, what was your gpa?

^what was your GPA?

My GPA is a 4.0.

Q: Was I considered for my alternate major also?

A: Unfortunately, UCLA only reviews transfer applicants for the first-choice majors. Due to the high volume of applicants each term, we are unable to provide a second review to students once they have been denied for their first majors.

Thanks! I have all the prereqs completed though, which may have helped me. Also, since I’ve been a Computer Engineering major until recently, I have completed all of the high level math courses my CC offers as well. Possibly another pro? Who knows!

Does anyone know of a similar situation to my other question though? Think it’ll be okay to drop an engineering course I’m in now?

^ TAP students are reviewed under their alternate major.

Extention - I think, with such a highly impacted major like that, not completing requirements (even if it was not available) brings you down a notch. That’s why we hear so many stories about kids attending multiple CCs…

I’m so so so sorry you guys. It looks like it was MUCH tougher this year, DAMN. I can’t imagine what the stats will look like for this year… =***( hopefully CAL will be kinder…

They have their weird reasons and I think everything happens for a reason-whether you get in or not-besides, there’s still berkeley AND all the other UC’s
Once you get past the name, it’s all the same-I’m at my third college, and trust me, i was at tulane for a semester, then another one, now community-there are veryyyy minute differences.
Just don’t get too upset about it it’s not worth it!
