Rejected/Waitlisted from my top choices, and Idk where to choose

Reject: Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell
Waitlist: Upenn, Duke, Rice, WUSTL, Vanderbilt

Accepted to Emory, Wellesley, Barnard, UCLA(can't afford)

Considering that my parent's EFC=0, I probably don't have chance with getting off waitlist, Right? I'm happy about three colleges I got accepted to, but I just really wanted to get into Brown, Rice, Duke........

In your opinion, where should I attend? I know I will eventually have to make up my mind, but any advice will be appreciated.

Which of these offers the best aid package? If the packages are equivalent, it is perfectly fine to choose based on location or whatever random factor appeals to you.

Me, I’d go for Wellesley. All of the alumnae I’ve met were amazing.

Assuming you can afford Emory, Wellesley, Barnard, you’ve got some great choices. Congrats! Tell us more. What are you interested in?

I’d go with Wellesley.

Consider net cost after non-loan financial aid, strength of offerings in your intended or possible majors, and breadth of major offerings if you are undecided. Also check on consortium arrangements where you may be able to take courses at other schools.

Also got accepted to UC Berkeley, but again, I’m OOS and can’t afford ~$32000 a year. My parents were actually thinking about moving to Cali. If they do, would I pay in-state tuition from 2nd year till I graduate?

Net Cost

Wellesley: Parental Contribution 3773+ Work study 2100
Barnard: recommended self-help: 5500
Emory: work study 2500+ Fed Sub Stafford Loan 3500+ Fed Unsub Stafford Loan 2000

UCLA: ~33000
UCB: ~32000

[Residency for Tuition Purposes - Office Of The Registrar](http://registrar.berkeley.edu/staff_resources/residency.html)

Thanks for the link! What’s Fed Sub Stafford Loan/ Fed unsub Stafford Loann?

None or little financial aid is offered to waitlisted students because most, if not all, were already used up for RD students. You have some excellent choices- what are you planning on studying?

If your family finds Barnard affordable, why not go there? It’s across the street from Columbia, and you can take classes there as well as be in clubs, etc., there.

Thanks for all the help!
I’m not really sure about the major for now. I applied as a math major, but I’m open to other possibilities as well.
