Rejected with 4.0

I see many pp getting rejected with CC 4.0 gpa..well mostly international students for business and econ major..by UCB and UCLA...

anyone else??

People with 4.0 GPA’s kind of disgust me. Maybe some colleges feel the same way?

I used to have a 4.0 until Calculus x_x
Here’s what I think. If you have a 4.0 and got rejected, chances are:

Your courseload isn’t too competitive, or, more likely:

Your essays were cocky.

There’s my two cents. :)

You are an international student.

You applied to UCLA as a Communications major.

You applied Haas School of Business.

You have no extracurricular activity or job.

Mistake.

Destiny.

I read an essay by some guy who got rejected here from UCLA or UC Berkeley with a 4.0.

When I read it, it didn’t feel like a person was talking to me.

What did he say in his essay to make you think that?

Universities want humans.

I disagree.

Universities want money. Yeah – that’s about right. =]

I disagree.

Sepho, my friend got in as communications major and he has 3.8! :)

I wouldn’t be suprised if out of state transfers or international applicants trying to apply for Haas or UCLA business economics were denied with a 4.0.

GPAs are meaningless without knowing the course load and what type of classes one has taken/major. Say if you are a business econ major… UCLA only requires the first two calculus courses which are very easy and many people actually finish in highschool. The other requirements are a joke. So if one took GE electives and classes that were non series math or science courses a 4.0 is easy since all other courses are jokes.

I think people with 4.0’s that get rejected either have really bad essays or are missing pre-reqs. Or they’re out of state and applying to impacted majors.

u have 4.0 gpa---- no life!
