“CSULB (the hardest state school in cal)”

Lol?

“CSULB (the hardest state school in cal)”

Lol?

3.7- poli sci, igetce finished.

In:UCD, UCSB, UCI
Rejected: UCSC
Waiting: UCSD, UCB, UCLA

Admissions wise, its harder to get in to CSULB than any other Cal State. Especially for my major, (Psych) as it is heavily impacted. I have friends with decent GPAs (3.4) who were declined Long Beach.

i got denied by sdsu as well but accepted to csulb. i got in with a business administration major (probably the most impacted major?)

is it harder to get into CSULB than Cal Poly SLO? it was 11% for my major this year and i got rejected with a 3.86

anyway, last year ppl were saying that the “magic number” for Cal for LA was a 3.5 for non capped majors and 3.75 for capped majors

I’m thinking that it will go up to 3.6 and 3.8 respectively…

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. SLO is the hardest state to get into - even harder then some UCs. And Chesser, seriously? You need to take a chill pill my friend. Hahaha.

and to you all freaking out about getting rejected from the less-competitive UCs and the CSUs - grasp the concept of maximizing yield rate and put it to god damn rest already. You will get into a better school that is maximizing it’s yield rate with… YOU.

3.5 five for a non capped major…damn I have a 3.48 xP

I hope they use sigfigs or round up.

^
ROFLMAO sigfigs.

This isn’t Chemistry. Eww.

Thanks grey. Always reassuring us nervous wrecks! X__X;;

Bump. Check in if you were rejected from a non-competitive major at UCLA with a 3.5+

Got reject from UCLA as a mechanical engineering major. I have a 3.7 gpa with all my lower division engineering classes done (statics, dynamics, matlab, material science, circuits, graphics) along with all my math, physics, and chemistry. Now I’m worried about Cal.

Man, that’s tough. The average admit GPA for MechE was 3.66 last year.

^ Yeah, I really thought I would be able to get in UCLA. Now my dreams for UCB arn’t looking good either. If I can’t get into UCLA what are the chances I’d UCB…I’m guessing not very good. Oh well, there’s always Cal Poly.
