I cannot believe i just got rejected from UCD!
I had 3.8 GPA, 1780 on my SAT.
I even interned at a pet hospital because i wanted to become a vetenerian.
Did they check our senior grade already?
because i got 2Ds on my first semester, and i am retaking these classes at junior college right now, and i was thinking about sending the letters to UCs after i get my grade from JUCO. Does this mean i have no chance for other UC except Riverside and Merced?

Oh yeah, I also got 780 on Math 2c, 780 on SAT 2 Korean, and 630 on SAT II American History

It seems random (or I do not understand their criteria) to say the least. There have been others who were rejected & posted their stats -- seemed like they were above the UCD avg. But there were others with much lower scores who were accepted.

Maybe UCD admissions can shed some light.

Keep your chin up. There are a other options. Good Luck.

CUPIKSDAD. I hope so.... I am so moody right now at school because of the rejection. I thought I was a definite match to UCD. What happened?

I don't think any UC will take a D without very special considerations.
You better plan for a CSU or CC.
UCR sometimes get desperate, but 2 D may be a bit too much even for UCR or UCM.

yeah but i heard that they were not going to check the 2Ds untill you get accepted. And I was going to email them later.

Usually they prefer the student to notify them as soon as possible. What are you going to do in June 2008 if all the UCs that admitted you rescind their admission offer? Too late for any college except for those with rolling admission or CC.
All offers for admission are conditional, assuming reasonable senior grades.
For UCLA and UCB, it is better than C average unweighted and no D.
Similarly for other UCs, again not 1 D is forgivable - let alone 2Ds.
Talk to your school counselor. Don't shoot yourself on the foot.

Thank you... haha i guess imma go shoot myself on the foot.

It can seem random reviewing the several posts from students who have been admitted or rejected but, I can assure you it is not. Please remember that admissions decisions are not based only off of GPA and test scores; there are several other factors that are taken into consideration which do not appear in the posts. Also remember that this year was an extremely competitive year and, although even I don't have them yet, I'm sure that we will all see a significant increase in the fall 2008 admitted student statistics compared to previous years. I hope this helps shed some light on these decisions.

I was rejected too.

3.3 UW
3.4 W
1800 SAT
4 years of english, history, math, and spanish
2 AP classes
solid extra curricular activities
all work experience & community service related to major (Human Development)

oh well. I'm guessing it's my GPA being so low, or maybe even my SAT's.

Wow that is bizarre, I did the same thing as you (major animal biology) and i also did intern at a vet hospital, but was accepted for my major. But my gpa was a bit higher than yours (4.02 W), but also my SATs and ACT were horrendous. :S Maybe essays? Senior schedule is looked at, but not grades btw.

Sigh... I hope this is not the same for Irvine, SC, SD, LA or SB T.T Thank you guys. Guess I will wait till the 15th. T.T

am so bored i was rejected 3.67 G.P.A SAt SCore of 1600 and ACT 21 and someone in my school with 3.0 GPA and SAT score of 1270 got in !! am so ****ed!1

what was the 3.0 guy's major?

SAT of 1270? That seems....low. Like sign your name and leave the room low.

i got rejected too. 2030 sat, 710 and 720 on math and bio satII, respectively. 3.54 weighted gpa. 5 Ap classes, and 8 honors classes throughout high school. sh8 lol.
