<p>Lots of volunteer hours, 1st generation, personal hardship.</p>
<p>Not too hopeful about UCSB at this point...</p>

<p>^I can’t believe you guys got rejected with those stats! What the heck is going on this year?? I think we better just make plans for my son to go to Cal Poly Pomona where he has already been accepted because there is no way UCSB is going to take him if you guys are getting rejected from Irvine with those numbers.</p>

<p>Guys, make sure you have legitimate reasons to appeal with and aren’t just squabbling for admission. I submitted an appeal for UCSD but I feel that they shortchanged me with GPA and the lack of no low income points; you can see the reasons in the UCSD forum. I saw another guy post that he knew 7 people that appealed to UCI and like 5 got in… but this was last year when the economic crisis didnt hit the UC’s so bad. Best of luck!</p>
