i got waitlisted for UCSB i have a 3.8 GPA, 27 on the ACT, average on the SAT 2s but i have tons of extra cirriculars, i play two varsity sports along with cross country, i have done leadership for two years being vice president both of them, i do csf, spanish honors society, science alliance, and youth group and i do tons of community service. will it be to my advantage that im waitlisted if i appeal? and is it really hard to get in on appeal?

Well I was accepted to UCSD but rejected to UCSB. weird…

denied, 3.55 gpa and 27 ACT(30 superscored). Accepted to cal poly e.d. , so this doesn’t matter anyways.

I got waitlisted…3.8 GPA and 1840 SAT’s. Pretty obnoxious…

so irritated right now. applied for pre-biology. 2070 SAT. 3.74 GPA. working part time, two varsity sports, ridiculous community service - international and local.

whatever though. cal poly accepted me for animal science. ucsb is losing out. c:

Rejected.
3.67 UC GPA
1990 SAT
29 ACT

I’m frustrated because I took every honors class possible, regardless of whether UC weighted it or not. My counselors assured me that this would look better to the UC admissions counselors. I worked very hard for 4 years with extra curriculars and 6 honors classes at a time (sacrificing a significant portion of social activities) for a low GPA.

Well, better luck for Davis, which is my #1 choice anyway. :)

wow every single person who posted their stats here had a higher GPA & SAT score than me
but i got rejected from UCSC but accepted to UCSB
they probably focused more on other things this year

I got accepted to ucsd ucsc and uci but ucsb was my number one and I got waitlisted. Does Davis come out tomorrow?

3.5 GPA w/ 2190 SAT score
SAT: Math 2 = 700, Physics = 670

All I can say is ***! I thought I was in for sure.
Looks like im going to Cal Poly SLO

on the waitlist GPA:3.9 SAT:1750 SATII: 800, 640
but that’s ok
i’m going to Irvine

Rejected with a 3.7 UC GPA, 32 ACT’s or 2050 SATI and 800 & 720 SATII’s ![]()
not even waitlisted…

Rejected with a 3.7 UC GPA, 29 ACT, 1760 on SAT, 760 on math and chem subject test, and about 700 hours of summer camp (3 summer’s worth)…should I even try to appeal?

Rejected with a 3.3 GPA and 1950 SAT.
GPA is horrible for UCs of course, but so is the fact that I never took any SAT IIs.
I basically had it coming with those 2 factors alone.

Good thing UCSB wasn’t my top choice, but it was only 1 out of the 2 UCs I applied to (UC Davis being the other one).

Congrats to everyone who got in!

S rejected with 3.75 GPA 2020 SAT, 33 ACT, 800 & 630 SAT II’s, Good EC’s IB programme, 20 hrs part-time job. Varsity Tennis Captain 4 yrs. Summer Internship at Kaiser Permanante. Bio major. UCSD, UCLA & now UCSB tubed. Last Chance UCD and sucking fumes!!

D: omg everyone here got rejected with pretty good stats…
i think i have one of the lowest & i got rejected:
3.4 gpa, 1850 sat I, lots of ECs
im going to appeal though! :O

Rejected.
3.042 GPA
1860 SAT
Tons of ECs
great essays
…i got into Davis.

Gpa-- 3.76
sat-- 1880

rejected

When I look at the majority of the stats here, I feel bad I got into UCSB. :(

^ same here… everyone would hate me…

you guys should definitely appeal!

How is it that I got rejected at this school, but got into Irvine and Davis? Santa Barbara is the easiest of the mid-tier UCs to get into!
