Rejecting admission?

Can anyone tell me how I reject the admission that Emory has offered me? I want to open up the spot for someone on the wait list as soon as I can.

ACCEPT ADMISSION. ACCEPT ADMISSION.
It’s what Johan wants you to do

Lol well if number 57 says so, I might just have to. I wouldfollow Johan blindly to my death. By any chance were you at opening day yesterday?

I’m just going to let the reply deadline pass.

They aren’t going to let anyone off the waitlist until after May 1 (reply deadline), so rejecting their offer before then won’t do anyone on the waitlist any good.

Kitkatkatie, you are going to U Chicago? Great school… I was offered a spot but love everything about Emory… Good luck there.

Yep. It was a hard choice, but I got denied emory scholars, so it just didn’t make sense for me to go to emory. My aunt’s a professor there, and I’m from Atlanta, so I have a lot of friends in the area, but Chicago just has better academics for what i want to do. That, and I can do my work study at a science lab there, and I’d have to work a campus job at emory. And I just fit better at Chicago.

Why are you going to emory over chicago?

Apparently, in the last few years, Emory has been letting students off the waitlist as early as the last week in April…
So if you can, reject your spot soon so the waitlisted applicants (me included) get a shot!
Im not quite sure how to do it though…

Well, I fit better at Emory… I love the warm weather and Atlanta, from what I know, is a lively city. Also, Chicago’s too … hmmm … academic? idk whats the right word… I visited Emory too and loved the campus.

i think you write a letter to them?

Not true, I was accepted off the waiting list on April 12th.

You can simply email admiss@emory.edu to say that you want to withdraw your application. They say that they like it if you indicate where you are going to school, but you don’t have to
