Rejection from 20+ Schools

brouhaha? Lol what does that mean Jozhekryx?

I see. I find your argument to be a preposterous one.
As I have reiterated in my previous posts, I am not trying to impress anyone here.
I am talking normally.
So, my message has been clouded, due to my apt diction?
I do not see any usage mistakes.

This is just outrageous.
I do not constantly use a thesaurus to reply to posts.
I do not see why we are arguing vehemently about the thesis here.

Let us not digress.

Brouhaha is the 22nd word in Adam Robinson’s * Word Smart II * series.
I have often utilized the aforementioned work to polish my vocabulary.

It is a great book for the SAT.

I sincerely apologize:
Brouhaha means a state of pandemonium where everyone talks meaningless garbage.

You haven’t figured it out yet? It seems as if you have poor analytical/inferring skills. Of course my statement rests on the assumption that the way you are writing on this forum reflects your ability. In other words, your use of “apt diction” reflects your effort. Your writing is very boring, to say the least. Frankly, people care about “apt diction” but no one cares about “[posh] apt diction”. THat’s your writing. You’re writing is flowery. Honestly, it’s boring. It has no pizzazz. Logically, I can infer that your writing in essays will have no pizzazz as well.

Thank you for your concern, but my essays were radically different.
I like poise and charm.

Another assumption that you seem to believe is that people on this forum do not write what they think, which is false, assuming that the person is serious about the topic.

The assumption is true in your case.

omg omg :D

You clearly can’t write concisely. “Meaningless brouhaha” is redundant. Fail!

I do not assume so.
After embarking upon your College Confidential Post history, you seem like an insecure poster about editing essays.
I fully understand your concern.
However, I hope you do not use argumentum ad hominem to generate attention.

The epithet merely served to accentuate my current etat.
Let me italicize.

 • accentuate *

I hope this incident exemplifies my style of writing.

“argumentum ad hominem”? really? You can just use “personal insults”. It’s more concise. Another example of verbose writing.

Your style of writing is what? If “poise and charm” are what you consider to be from a style of writing that accentuates, then forget about it. Your essay probably sucked. I think you’re confusing the terms accentuate and verbosity.

There exists a significant difference.
Argumentum ad hominem is a precise term to describe your current behavior.
You are utilizing a writing style to judge my character.
e.g)

-Apt portrayal of argumentum ad hominem
Below you will find an apt example of personal insults.
e.g)

Thank you for your foolish assumption which resulted in a personal attack.

I hope you find your peace.

Your assumptions are just as foolish. Did i win at making blanket statements?

You are a malicious person who frequently utilizes ad hominem attacks.
Please, leave.

Obviously a ■■■■■, but I’ll feed it anyway.

If you wrote your application essays like you write on CC, you’re basically asking for rejection. Let me be Captain Obvious for a moment and say that sounding smart is not equivalent to being smart. Prestigious universities care more about what you do instead of what you say or how you say it ;)

Congratulations if you do get into any of those schools but seriously… take a chill pill or get laid.

@OP,While your efforts to memorize the dictionary may impress the dull, noone here finds it charming.I only hope, for your sake, that you did not write your essays like that, because that is a guaranteed way to get rejected. There is a place for your verbose writing-perhaps you could invest your literary skills to writing epic-themed novels that make use of that archaic language.

Agreed with Courtney-stop attacking the OP over his use of language! He’s made it clear he’s not doing so to impress anyone here so can you please stop digressing from the issue at hand and offer some constructive feedback? Admittedly his language is a bit baroque but he has the right to write (unintentional rhyme) however he pleases, and if you have a problem with that then I’d suggest ignoring this thread and not posting on it any further!
That said, Jozhekryx you could PM me your stats if you’d like me to give my opinion. I was also wondering-are you an International student? No need to answer if you’d rather not.
