Are you sure to me that's a rejection? I'm wondering whether they didn't receive all of your application materials and now are saying it's too late to apply for admission for the semester that you wanted.

I don't know what the problem is but this is a situation that my S encountered.

He started his applications early in Sept. He assumed that all of the applications on the website were for Fall of 2006. One school which is on quarters and did not start until the end of Sept. still had the application for Fall of 2005. He did not get around to completing the app until the beginning of Oct. and found that the prompts on the essay had changed. He was applying for Fall 2005 instead of Fall 2006. I have heard that he was not only student who made this mistake, I hope that the school changes it's website application next year to avoid this situation. You would think that a school that has a deadline of Feb. for accepting applicaitions would update it's website before Oct.

Double check that you applied for the semester that you want to attend.

I don't know what to make of that, but I'm pretty sure it is not a rejection. They don't give admissions decisions online. Online they tell you they'll mail you your decision, and you find out by mail...So, I'd call them and find out what's going on.
