rejection from UCD = rejection from UCSB??

Is there any hope for those rejected from Davis to get into UCSB?

Yes of course there is. :)

UCD is more selective than UCSB.

actually no, UCSB is a little harder to get into

but yeah all schools are different so dont worry

Jocelyne626 it is true that UCSB had more applications for fewer spots, but the quality of applicant overall was not higher than for UCD so take from that what you will....Northern California is less populated than Southern California. Still UCD had by far the highest increase in applications of any UC campus this year. This question is a little bit tricky to answer.

It's too early to worry, r89. Every school makes up its own mind one applicant at at time. If your words and numbers are "good enough" for SB, you have the same chance as a whole bunch of other people in the same group, and hopefully will catch their attention.

this is all extremely comforting. **** davis.

ughhh how nervous is everyone to check online on monday at 3 pm.
the suspense makes me want to die

word.
I just REALLY hope I get into UCD or UCSB!

davis tightened up this year and id be very surprised if ucsb did the same thing

at first when i saw my rejection letter from davis, all i could think about was just settling with chico, but hearing other people's rejections made me lighten up a bit and have hope for ucsb still

college confidential rules.

"but hearing other people's rejections made me lighten up a bit and have hope for ucsb still"

What?? I'm confused, what do you mean?

"Still UCD had by far the highest increase in applications of any UC campus this year."

Irrelevant, but actually Merced received a higher increase in applications this year...

at first i thought that i had a huge error in my application being that my stats are higher than davis in sat's and gpa from last year, but seeing others with similar stats that were also better than last year's helped me lighten up and realize that i wasnt alone

well UCSB also had very high increase of applications second to Davis.

im not saying im a shoe in to ucsb or ucd, but it certainly feels better to know that you arent alone being in shock about davis' rejections

I get what you're saying, Archileta

it all depends... getting rejected from UCD does not mean you are automatically ganna get rejected for SB... They have differnet admission style and depends on the major!don't give up!

UCD was really selective this year. I wish SB is not as selective as UCD though.

Davis is more selective than UC Santa Barbara, and Davis had a TON more applicants than last year/expected

Davis uses a point system which sometime is not always the best.
