Rejection letters!

QUOTE: metal: I’ve got a 3.2 (unweighted) as well, and despite my test scores and ec’s, I believe that might kill me. Kind of insane that so many people have 3.9/4.0s, I can’t even imagine getting those grades. Have you got a second choice?

pantree: Yeah, I’ve got 9 other schools. U of Colorado Boulder, UCSD, UC Davis, UCLA, UC Berkeley, NYU, George Washington U, American U, Boston U, and U Chicago. All of these except Boulder are on the same level as UW or higher, though.

I was fine with going wherever (except UC Davis - seems uninteresting now) but seeing all my friends getting into UW, especially those slightly “below” my stats, it’s making me REALLY want to go to UW. In-state, so it’ll be cheaper, and it’s a great school regardless, AND I’ll be able to room with one of my best friends.

Really praying to whoever that I get an acceptance soon.

Best of luck to you!!^ I’m waiting for ucla and ucsd too but not wanting to pay the 54K tuition. Would rather pay for USC but who knows if i’ll get in.

San Diego might be another day or two…seems unlikely it’d be tomorrow  Friday maybe??

Haha I cannot wait that long. Gahhh

Yeah, UCSD said Friday. Not expecting any good news there, but…maybe…?

I’m waiting for UCSD too. It’s my 3rd choice school, but I’d be a little more nervous for the UCLA/Cal decisions if I didn’t get in.

Hopefully I get into UW even though I won’t be attending since I got into UIUC for CS… it’d help keep my nerves in check for ivy day.

dustinthewind: Congrats on UIUC for cs! My friend went there for undergrad and then did his masters at UW. He’s now deciding between a few very nice companies for when he graduates.

Still very nervous haha

Is it true that UW accepted more in-state students with lower stats than out of state students with higher stats? I’m from So cal and I just got rejected and when looking on different social sites it looks like more people from WA are being admitted.

i didn’t make it in :frowning: i was pretty upset since I thought i had a pretty good chance. i’m going to appeal but who even knows if that will do anything. i might end up at wwu where i was accepted, but i don’t think i want to go

This thread is from last year… but to answer your question erica, of course there are going to be more in-state kids accepted than OOS, it’s a state school.
