rejection notification

Does SU send out rejection emails or is that done via postal mail? I know that those of you who were accepted received an email but I haven't heard how rejections are handled. D has yet to receive any type of communication with the university and we are hoping that "no news is good news" at this point.

my s didn’t hear anything either, but a friend of his did…what’s going on??? I think I’m worse
off than my son???

enough18…do you mean he heard he was rejected or accepted?

he hasn’t heard anything, got into his my slice and checked financial aid, just had the full cost
broken down… I’m going nuts as well as he is.

enough…I mean your son’s friend…was he accepted or rejected? Just trying to figure out if they only send emails to accepted students or if you get rejected via email too

his friend was accepted, also will they be sending out e-mails over the weekend???

enough18 … how does a student log into his/her my slice before being accepted? Isn’t a “net ID” required? My “well qualified” D with legacy has not heard yet either. The only password she has is an SU ID.

Once you log into my slice there is a link for the accepted students form. If you have been accepted that will open up. I was able to open that up before I was officially notified I was in. If it doesn’t open up then they either haven’t made a decision yet or it hasn’t gone through yet if the decision is coming in waves.

rejections do not go out until much later…I have no idea what SU is doing this year with admissions notifications, but they have definitely changed methodology…no rhyme or reason; definitely in waves…maybe geography but who knows…

I read somewhere that decisions are released on a rolling basis starting in mid-March. No idea what kind of pattern they’re basing the decision releases on, but I’d assume that not everyone should have heard yet.

D’s friend was rejected from NewHouse, so rejections are also going out, not sure how the rejection came whether through email or snail mail but she was rejected.

Collegebound- Was your daughter’s friend accepted into her 2nd or 3rd choice at Syracuse? It seems others on this list who received notification this weekend were. I’m trying to figure out if only acceptances went out on Friday.

BLK616 - I asked my daughter the exact same question but her friend was so upset she didnt want to ask too many questions of her, it doesnt seem like she got a 2nd option because of how distraught she was but I will see if I can find out any more information.

please do! thank you

how do you get a myslice account?

^^^go here https://myslice.syr.edu/PTL8PROD/syrsignon.html</a> and follow the instructions for “need a myslice account”

people are saying that theyve seen their finaid packages online before they received a decision email. if i cant see a package on myslice does that mean i was rejected?

wanttogo, mine only became available a few minutes before the acceptance email. I think they put everything up together as part of each wave and then notify you when it’s ready. Your finaid won’t be on MySlice til they’re about to notify you, so don’t worry about not seeing it now.

Your Admission Acceptance Form process is not currently available. If you have contacted the Office of Admissions to regain access, please try to access the form again later.

does this mean i got rejected?

I was able to open up the financial aid portfolio though…

fast123— My daughter has the same note, we were able to open financial aid,
but just shows amount of school, no aid at alll???
