My school is having a student-run rejection party for those who applied EA/ED to any ivy, Stanford, or Duke. It sounds really weird. Are any of your schools doing it?

The sad thing is...I'm looking forward to it.

I wish I could join. How about a CC rejection party?

No, but my friend's party on Friday will serve that purpose since a lot of those going to it applied early somewhere. There'll probably be people drinking to their success or drowning out their sorrows. He's planning on setting up amps and drumps and such...so I'll be rocking out either way.

I bet most of them will be Stanford rejects - isn't that school notorious for killing the hopes of 50% earlies, while gentle H and P only kicks out 5%? Why on earth would anyone apply there?

That's the best idea I've ever heard.

I made $10 bets with tons of friends for my rejection/deferral. So even when I don't get in, I'll be slightly richer? =D

And if you do get in, youll be ecstatic, though youll lose a lot of money. :D

it'll be worth it though. I'm sure we'll all gladly pay $42,000 in tuition each year if it meant a sure bed in Palo Alto next fall.

My "school" doesn't have a rejection party (I'm homeschooled, lol), but I just bought a really yummy bar of chocolate to have on hand. If I get in, I'll celebrate with it, and if I don't, at least I'll still have a serotonin rush!

lol my friends and I will celebrate rejections with boba (bubble tea)!

how come the Ivies already have their 2010 forums (or is the plural - fora??) while we don't?

haha i have $30 in bets....i get $15 if i don't get in, i give $15 if the others don't.
oh and a few ivies already sent out their notices, such as columbia and dartmouth. the rest are probably getting prepared

I would want to go to rejection party if I get rejected! To cheer up myself!

Oh that is a great idea. I'd totally organize that at my school, except most around here is hush-hush about where they applied early.

Getting rejected from Stanford would sorta be like ending a (rather one-sided) relationship with someone you've been in love with since you were five.

I'm gonna use the money I make from bets to buy kleenex, chocolates, and huge cartons of ice cream while I recover. =D

We should all do a thing on aim though, like a chatroom or something....though I would imagine some people may be hushhush about being rejected.

my friend is applying early to Cornell. if i get in, im buying him dinner for a week. if i don't, well, ill have good food to eat... haha.
