Pretty much every college I have gotten accepted into hasn’t sent me an official accepted e-mail. CSUN was the only one. I had to check the portal for SJSU, LBSU and UC Riverside to see that I got accepted. Cal Poly never sent a denied e-mail to me, I just saw it on the admissions status section of the portal.

3.9 GPA
26 ACT
Microbiology

I might appeal, depends if i can handle the thought of being rejected again:/

3.1 csu gpa
2270 SAT

math major…

3.8 GPA transfer
all prereqs

Don’t really understand why I was rejected. Has me sweating a bit for the UC’s. I hear Cal Poly is trying to eliminate the liberal arts department though so that could be it.

Rejected, checked my portal yesterday morning.

Major: Aerospace Engineering
GPA: 4.17 W (3.56 UW)
2090 SAT
800 Math II
720 US History
32 ACT

This really rustles my jimmies. Cal Poly is so competitive, yet people with lower GPA’s are getting in, albeit with different majors. Here’s hoping to getting into a good UC. I don’t want to have to spend a year at CC and transfer.

Rejected.

Major: Biochemistry

Unweighted GPA: 3.9
Weighted GPA: 4.3

SAT I (Math/CR/Writing): 670/460/620. I just recently moved to the US from Europe but I am a US citizen. They didn’t have an essay section so as far as they knew I was a normal applicant

SAT II’s were not very strong, but again, I just recently moved to the US.

Tons of EC’s. Volunteered at medical research centers, school play’s, caring for epileptic patients, and a ton of other medical related EC’s.

Class rank was top 7%. I am also an in state applicant.

I really wanted to go to Cal Poly as well. A lot of people with much lower GPA’s and EC’s than me got in, so I thought I had a chance for sure.

I’m scared for UC decisions now…

Probably easier to get into a UC… larger schools… more spaces available.

S joined the “denied club” today by mail…after acceptances from UCI, UCD, UCSD, and UCSB and an out-of-state school that actually offered a little grant $$ (so far).

Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 4.15
SAT: 2070
SAT Math: 740
Class rank: 1

If he gets bummed out by this rejection, I’ll tell him to come to this thread–you all make a very high-class group of students to be part of.

I note that most of the students posting here are in majors that UC’s would label as “impacted” and private colleges tag as “hire more faculty!” But as an engineer, I’m delighted that so many young people clearly want to become engineers! And there’s lots of good places to get started in engineering.

Do any of you frequently experience problems with logging in to the portal? I tried contacting the school last week by e-mail to assist me but they have not responded.
