Rejection to summer programs and later auditions

Have people who have not been accepted to summer programs later been accepted into those colleges/conservatories? I'm especially curious about BW Overtures, but it'd be interesting to hear about this happening in other programs, too.

Yes, there are stories of people denied from MPulse who were accepted at UMich and the other way around. People who got into MPulse who were not accepted to UMich. It is dependent on what they are looking for that year in that class.

yes. And the reverse is true as well. There are many people accepted to summer programs who do not get into that school for college. I know several instances of students attending BW Overtures and not being accepted to BW for college. I would look at it this way. They most likely will not remember your audition for the summer program. You have time to work hard on your college audition material and really blow their socks off during college audition season. But, if you were to have attended Overtures but your mayerial or skills werent on par with what they were looking for and you don’t impress them during a summer program, they’ve had a week or longer to form an impression of you. Most likely they will have already formed an opinion as to whether you are right for their program. So if you didn’t really wow them during the summer camp more than likely you won’t be accepted there for college.
So don’t take a rejection from a summer program as a rejection from the school. Take it as an opportunity to improve upon your audition before college audition season.
