rejections 2009

Hi Margot33,

Also if you check the thread here on USC BFA and BA, it shows a lot of good stuff on how to check on your application status. Let me know if you hear anything and I will let you know too. Thanks

Thank you! I will def. check it out for sure! And Ill make sure to post if I get anything.

Hi bettylouchandler,

Have you heard anything from USC yet. I haven't either. Let me know if you do or if you see anything yet on application status. Thank you much.

nothing....status still says updated Mar 13.....what do you think?

I'd never set up an OASIS account because didn't know what it was. Just set one up and it said I'd recieve an email with some information before I can access my account. The email still hasn't come! Did you go through this process? I decided I might as well get the Oasis account because so many are talking about it as a way one might be able to tell if their admission status is good/bad/different. Do you know the significance of this?

mine says updated march 4. and i have an oasis account already.

My status was last updated on March 10 and I think I already have an Oasis account too. Nothing in the mail today. I see this new application status page that has been there for a week to maybe a few days, im not sure (it used to just go straight to the actual application status page directly but now there is this page before that. It gives a choice to go to l. Undergraduate Application or 2. Admission and Financial Aid online services. I clicked on admissions area. My id number is highlighted under the toolbar that says Oasis. Once I try to get into the actual Oasis I haven't been able to log in. I never created a password for this and tried the email password and my usc password. Neither works. Does this sound like the Oasis thing everyone is talking about.

Hahah I'm with you man... I just got waitlisted by UMich for BFA Acting today too. I emailed the department with a few questions about the waitlist and got this as a response:

"I am the counselor in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance admissions office who handles the Theatre applications. We regret that we had to offer waitlist to you but we cannot exceed our numbers and you are qualified. Since we admitted a class that is gender balanced, with a goal of 8 men and 8 women, there are not many men on the waitlist at all and we normally do go to the waitlist at some point as early as we can. Just after May 1 we should know for certain what spaces we have and at that time the Theatre Faculty make recommendations, or if anything opens up earlier we will contact those who accept our waitlist offer. There is no ranking of the waitlist. We have only a handful of men on the waitlist.

So it is important if you remain interested, to return your waitlist offer so we know you remain interested, and that you go ahead and make plans for another choice. If we are able to offer a place you would have two weeks after that to decide."

Hope this helps!

Greg, thank you so much. That made me happy, a little! My confidence isn't too high up, but i'm still happy! Hahaha. Good luck to you too, man!

Hi Margot 33 and bettylouchandler,

Any news yet. No link today and nothing in the mail either for me. I haven't seen anymore acceptances in the last few days. I only still see 3 so far. I also haven't found any rejections either. Makes you wish everyone who auditioned were on this website huh!

no news. :( ugh. Ive auditioned for so many schools and have only heard back from one! aaahhhhhh

No audition there,
rejection...yesterday
onward,
still waiting to hear from 3 others

Keep the faith. This is the hard part, but most love the school they end up at.

Not long now . . . . We are still waiting on word from 7 schools! But I expect that those will all come in within the next week. It will be great to just know and then go into the next tough phase of deciding! But while I expect that to be hard, it will be at least finally under our control.

Rejected at Boston University ;o( Still waiting for 2 more schools, although my D feels they will be skinny envelopes because she's sure all the fat envelopes have been sent out early. So, accepted at 2 audition schools, waitlisted at 2 audition schools, and rejected at 3 audition schools so far. And so we wait just a little longer....

My D received a rejection letter from RADA which stated she was still being considered for the Foundation Course.

D's status page on the CMU website updated today to show decision of "not admitted".

IMHopeful -- ditto for my son.

Not admitted to CMU Acting. Waitlisted Syracuse and Emerson. Still hoping for NYU.

Good luck Schnitz123. So many people are still waiting on NYU. Whew, I sympathize. It's going to be like a dam breaking when the main body of letters finally start arriving.
