i am willing to sell my soul… really. come now. my SOUL. it is yours. for the small price of one admission. please?

Man, I’m practically posting on all these “waiting for the letter” forums. If I get a rejection letter, no surprise since it seems like all the acceptance letters were already received, but if…by some chance it is not a rejection (at this point I’d be happy with a waitlist), I will scream with joy to Everest.

franciscog24 ! U REALLY ARE posting on all these waiting for letter forums… i read the last comment and its always you
your posts are making me nervous “last letters are rejections” …
BE POSITIVE FOR ALL OF US
in my school lots of qualified students still have not heard…
I called NYU and they said by the end of the week letters should be in and to call back next week if we still havent received anything …so that means today, friday and saturday we could be waiting …joy

crackz4u: I understand. My party-pooper attitude is not that uplifting, it’s just hard to stomach this news when there is that indication. I hope I’m wrong, I truly do, it’s just I’ve wanted NYU so much that I have to start to lay-off my enthusiasm. I’ve already gotten into other colleges and I’ll have to be ready for a possible “r” letter. I do wish everyone luck, and I don’t mean to rain on everyone’s parade.

what does it mean that some people who didn’t get into CAS automatically got a spot at LSP?? i was waitlisted at CAS, does this mean i could still have a spot at LSP? isn’t getting waitlisted better than being denied, and if so, whyyyy are the denied people being offered spots at LSP while the waitlisted have to wait it out with no other offers?!
i’m sorry if this is totally ignorant but i am so confused!

No people who are waitlisted/rejected by CAS cannot have a spot at LSP. The admission committee choose a number of applicants who they’ve already rejected from CAS to admit to LSP. I think it’s around 10% of the people who are rejected from CAS gets a spot in LSP. The notice of acceptance to LSP would’ve been sent out from mid-feb - mid-march and they wouldn’t get a waitlist/reject letter. All LSP students should’ve already received their official acceptance package by now. Waitlist/reject on the other hand, are the people who are not admitted to CAS (or at least at the moment) but the admission committee do not feel those fit into LSP. It’s just that there are too many applicants, so students that the adcom feel is qualified for CAS goes on the waitlist. If the university doesn’t get enough students who are going to accept their offer, then they’ll start to accept through the waitlist. Either way, the waitlist students won’t get a spot in LSP as LSP students have to choose campuses and such and the selection time is over.

They most definitely sent out the rejection letters last, grimy bastards.

okay, thank you!

i got rejected from tisch drama:( and i have no back ups…

^sorry to hear that. don’t get down on yourself you are worth more than a cheap rejection letter.

does that mean you’re not going to college next year…?

There’s always community college, college with rolling admissions/later deadlines, or taking a gap year.
But for any juniors reading this, have back ups!! krisjan91, if you don’t mind me asking, is there any reason why you chose only NYU?
