Colgate and Amherst might be a surprise..unsure about Wesleyan, Pton is a crapshot and Carleton's mailing thing is just frustrating me for you.

I am also waiting for Bates (my last school !!)but yea well only if a miracle happens:p

hehe....rejected by grinnell, as well..(sorry, Izzy..big warm hug )they should, at least, have had the decency of posting the letter or sth..not just.."application receive date - status (deny)"..elisa, i'm waiting for bates, 2 (my last school, also, since vassar already sent their answers to intls by email last week, and i got none..:( )

Tweet, why haven't you emailed Vassar? or call them? I'm sure there must be an explanation.

anyone here applied to midd ?

YEP! WAITLISTED!

I don't know why, but I'm excited!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that everybody...

I can't stop thinking about this suspicion that intels who asked for FA got rejected or waitlisted A LOT this yr. Is this typical intel thing? or just for this yr? so sad.... and mad....

I have Emory, Rice, Swat left and I'm done.
I don't expect anything that much from these, though.
All I hope is I get into Rice and Emory......
Rice! Rice! Rice! I looooooove Rice! (I'm Asian! hehe)
quite sure that Swat would reject me fiercely :(

Some of intels who have lower stats than mine already
got Emory notification emails saying they are accepted.
no emails for me yet :(

group hugs
gives 847 tons of chocolates
shows numa numa numa ye dance

im excited with my latest run of waitlist decisions . . :)

hugs ellen eats your chocolate

middlebury - denied, as with grinnell today...all today....stupid spanish lesson...

Check out what the Americans are saying: most have the same experience. While in some cases it might have to do with FA (with internationals), it's mostly because admissions were incredibly competitive. I believe there's a population bubble that increased applications by at least 10% to most universities, most of which have not expanded the number they can admit. It's not going to get any better next year.

i will not name the school -
but i had some connections in that private school who tried to get me in (by the way, i am an int'l living in the united states).

when my connection went to talk to the president and the dean of admissions for me, they said:

"this student is absolutely brilliant and amazing; however, you must understand that we have to accept students who can bring in "funding.""

when the UC's didn't see me as an international, they accepted me happily and quickly with regents scholarship offers.

USC also didn't see me as an international or didn't care - they accepted me with scholarship offers and early rolling admission.

i asked for aid from every dang school - yes, a lot of aid -
i was waitlisted at eight private schools.
what does that tell you?

it says a ltta things, but right now i wanna stay positive

dinosaurrawr, hey, congrats on the UC's and USC...

sigh
thanks

but i will have to pay a big portion of their tuitions -
those schools do not allow int'ls to apply for aid.

whatever -
poor int'ls are the ones suffering!
i am telling you!!

i really really hope you guys get into the schools you want! :]

hugs tightly

thanks for comments, dinosaurrawr, and
congrats on your UC and USC admission!
But I thought you are a permanant resident, aren't you?
heard that you have lived there for 7 yrs or sth...
well, if it's wrong, sorry about that!

Izzy, sorry to hear that... don't know what to say
but I really hope you get a good offer from others....

big hugs everybody

6 hours left before Rice admission result posting (sigh)

naw im not a permanent resident -
it's effin tough to get green card these days.
yeah, i've lived here for 6.5years-ish, and that's why it's so effin hard to stare at my waiting list.

GOOD LUCK with RICE!

I can understand it from UC's point of view as they are state universities and must rely a lot on federal/state funding, but USC is int'l-friendly. I know quite a few students getting scholarships.

hey could you tell me what kind of aid Berkley and UCLA give to intels? I can't seem to find anything on the website....
