relationship troubles..... need help

<p>This will be long but if anyone can help me and figure this out, it will helpful. </p>

<p>I moved to a different school last year and met this really sweet girl. She was really nice and friendly to me and we talked often. I followed her around which was sort of stalkerish but I started liking her but found out she already had a boyfriend. Over the summer, we kinda moved apart and I didn't really talk to her. Then one day, at a party I saw her and the boyfriend; at this point I was drunk and said that she "is so hot" and found out from people that the whole school knew I had a crush on her. I also sort of insulted her boyfriend.
After this things got pretty awakward, and I didn't talk to her since, which is quite long. I did send her an email apolozing but she never replied back. Since then I have avoided her. But I found out, just a few days ago that she broke up with her boyfriend. Also I saw her looking at me in the hallways and cafeteria. I want to be friends with her again and if she agrees, I want to take her to the prom.</p>

<p>I don't know if I should go and talk to her again? I also don't know how should I start the conversation, as it seems really awkward to talk to her again after such a long time?</p>

<p>I suggest that you talk to her. You never know what she'll say unless you do. From a girl's perspective, I think that I'd want someone to talk to after a breakup. If she has been making eye contact with you, maybe she is waiting for you to come forward and talk to her. Start out the conversation with something like, "I know that we've had some misunderstandings in the past, but I'd still like to be friends. I hope that our friendship was not completely ruined." Considering that she just broke up, give her some time to open up to you. Hope this helps :)</p>
