I got invited to the open house, but it’s a cultural/economic diversity thing (I’m the latter), so no need to worry if your inbox is still empty. They said they’d send actual mail on March 31 and e-mail on April 1.

You would hope they would provide means for disadvantaged students to attend the open house.

When you guys who have not yet received decision notifications from Amherst log in to your My Amherst accounts, do you see a thing that says–

My Financial Aid: 2011: Application Complete, Award Info Available/The current requirements for your 2011 aid application are complete./A financial aid determination has been made./You may review your awards.

My best friend also applied but she doesn’t have anything similar on there…

don’t see anything here.

Someone try the link at the bottom of this page: https://www.amherst.edu/campuslife/reslife/housing/new

Doesn’t work for me, but might be a “backdoor”;)

Didn’t work for me either.

Yeah, neither path worked for me either. But I was able to check out my financial aid documents…and discovered that our tax returns were “not signed”…Has anyone else noticed this listing on theirs? Other schools that received our returns have not complained about this…

That didn’t work for me, either. Did anyone try calling the Amherst Admission Office for a clearer idea on exactly WHEN the decisions will be released? I think I might do it today… hmm…

Ok, if 6 more try, statistically it should work for at least one. If it works at all yet…

When I logged into the FA section none of the docs were listed as received. But I never received a link to that site, nor any notifications (regarding FA) from Amherst… So I’m hoping it’s not meant for applicants’ eyes…

It’s times like these that I wish I had applied early decision and known months ago…ahahaha

“Backdoor” doesn’t work for me either…

If an ED admit or likely letter recipient can try, we’ll have a better idea of whether it works at all…

I sort of wish I hadn’t found this thread and started getting too prematurely hopeful… I guess we wait.

If you search the threads from this time last year, there is a similar discussion and it turned out that whether people had the financial status appear on My Profile or not had no correlation to admission.

Thank you for that post.

I think I kind of knew that in the back of my head, minoafrau, but as drewzz said earlier, premature hope springs eternal. Ah well. Thank you for confirming that!

I do hope you get the yes you want. I’m just relieved mine isn’t a no. I need to get out of this state!

bahhhh.

I guess I can put Amherst out of my mind now. I am about 90% sure I got rejected/waitlisted since I would most likely would have qualified for the open house if I was accepted. :/

Hey guys, I was accepted today (I’m ridiculously ecstatic) and the letter said that the official decisions would be emailed on April 1st. Congratulations to those who were accepted today, and good luck to those who are still waiting!

It’s not over til it’s over, blarghh
Best of luck to everyone, indeed!
