So there is no chance of unconditionals? :(

Thats okay, lol. I really just want to get bloody offers!

No, you won’t get any unconditionals unless you have your AP grades already, in subjects that are related to the course you want to study.

No worries then. I’m just curious of my chances. Thank you. :3

Are the results out? How’d it go?
i’m especially interesting on whether or not you got in Loughborough University because that’s where i am hoping to attend.
If you don’t mind, why not tell us the result! But it’s all up to u. Hope that all went well though.
Cheers! :)

Still waiting on Bath x2 (BEng and MEng. Changed my mind about Reading. Decided to place two at Bath because it really is my dream)
And waiting on Loughborough (Sorry!)

But I’ve gotten two offers so far! One, from Nottingham, 55 Calc and Physics (Sadface), and the other from Portsmouth. Portsmouth wants 533 or 443 on my AP Exams, so yay!

Two 5’s on Calc AND Physics? That’s tough dude. Good luck with that! Congrats on your offers. :)

I know, isn’t that ridiculous? They basically ruled themselves out. >.>

I’m hoping Bath makes decent offers. The Elec. Eng department hasn’t been doing offers yet, but every other department is making offers that’re exactly the same as their site says.

So I can expect something like 433 or 533 for MEng, and hopefully 433 or 333 for Beng.

Thank’s for the well wishes!

So… Nervous… >.<

The Nottingham offer doesn’t surprise me greatly. First, it is a very good university with high standards. Second, in the old days when you had to put your applications in order of preference on the UCCA/UCAS form it was widely believed that Nottingham would reject anyone who placed them second, except after Oxbridge (they probably weren’t alone in doing that). Two 5s looks as if it continues the same belief that Nottingham must be a candidate’s first choice.

Hah. Then I wish I hadn’t even bothered with them. : P

For the record, I actually applied in a sort of pseudo-tiered system. IE: Foundation Year + Beng at one school, then 2 BEngs, then 2 MEngs, so I’d have a range of offers.

Nottingham was the foundation year, and they bumped me out of it straight into their programme. I dunno why any school would pass up the money, but hey. It was annoying though.

Still waiting! It’s killing me.
/Obsesses over track

Calc and Physics are going well, although I really wish I had had more opportunities for Engineering related APs in High School. (We have 1 Math AP, 1 Science AP (Chemistry), 2 Histories, And 3 Languages (English Lit, Latin, and Spanish)

Blargh.

Ah well. It should be okay.

I’m a bit worried about Physics B because it’s only once a week on sundays in a lecture, but the MIT programme is actually very respectable in its methodology. The bookwork is so much harder than the practice exams I’ve done. I think I might just buy an AP Study guide for Calc and Physics a few months before the exams.

But thanks for the info, Oldspc. That’s pretty interesting, although as said, I wish I had known that before =/

I’m a little confused why you applied for a foundation year if you’re already qualified (or most probably will be) for entry onto the degree. They are for people who have little/no experience in the subject to get them ready for the degree.

Because physics B only dabbles in Electricity and Magnetism, and I wanted to at least have one place I was sure I’d get into.
