how religious / conservative is the campus? for example, are the classes taught with any bias, or are non-christian students ostracized? i know the pro-choice group isnt school-sponsored, cuz the catholic church doesnt approve of abortion. does that slant the social aspect of college?

The religious aspect of Georgetown is there if you want it to be. If not, I've been told that people can go through 4 years and barely notice that it's a Catholic school.

From a Jesuit priest at GAAP: "I recently was taking to a Professor of French at Georgetown who asked me how, precisely, I became a Jesuit. She asked me if my parents were Jesuits, 'or something.'"

That, in a nutshell, probably describes Georgetown. You definitely can go there without realizing it's a Catholic school... from everything I've heard.

For instance, Georgetown is the only Catholic university in the country, and really one of the few universities in general, to have a campus LGBTQ resource center as well as a full-time, high-level position to go along with that. Under the surface, Georgetown is rather progressive. However, it is always at odds with its major donor base, who tend to be conservative and old.
