<p>Hi,
I am interested in being a Religions major in college. I'm not really interested in teaching for a career though. Can anyone suggest a career besides teaching where advanced degrees in Religions would be helpful/required?</p>
<p>A couple questions to clarify:</p>
<p>1) Do you mean “Religious Studies” or something else?
2) By advanced degree do you mean PhD?</p>
<p>Anyway, you’re basically in the same position as any other liberal arts major. Essentially every type of office/business job that doesn’t have some special requirement is going to be open to you. If you’re into the field from a “human interest” standpoint, things like non-profit program administrator might be a good fit. If it’s from a specific religion standpoint, you can look into administrator type jobs/liason type positions within your denomination. </p>
<p>Obviously, any major that involves tons of reading (as religious studies does) will be a useful preparation for law school.</p>
