Religion on Campus

I'm a Christian, Presbyterian specifically, and am a bit worried about my next four years on campus. I was wonder if there are any strong Christian groups at USC. I'm not talking about the type that yell on street corners and condemn people, but rather those with bible study, prayer groups, and worship services. This topic really hasn't come up too much so far, so I was wondering if there is anyone elses out there like me, and any advice from current students.
Thanks!

I'm sure there's a pretty prominent Christian presence on campus. Though I cannot speak from experience, I know a few Christians who go/have gone there and have found a strong faith community. One friend that currently attends is in a Christian fraternity that he seems to really enjoy.

There is a strong Protestant presence on campus. I'm not an expert on this (I'm not Protestant), but I know many of the people in the organizations and have been to some events. The last time I checked, there were probably more than 50 organizations. The large ones are Campus Crusade for Christ, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, and Alpha Gamma Omega, the Christian fraternity. There are ton of members in these organizations. Haha, a few weeks ago, people from Campus Crusade were wearing these funny, attention grabbing t-shirts. Most of the organizations have bible studies, worship, retreats, and all sorts of things.

There is also a strong USC Catholic Community.

Just as a side note, lots of students at USC go to a church called Bel Air Presbyterian. It takes a car to get there, but you can probably find other people that are already headed that way. They have Saturday evening, Sunday morning, and Sunday evening services. They also have college group on Wednesday evening.

what about catholic services?

There's a Catholic Center a block north of campus (near a lot of the off-campus housing) with a whole bunch of different masses.

The USC Catholic Center's website is http://www.catholictrojan.org/

The parish, Our Savior Catholic Church, is located at 3207 University Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90007...across from Troy Apartments. There are currently plans to build a new Catholic Center.

Sunday Mass times are 9 AM, 11 AM, 7 PM, and 10 PM.

There is also a Wednesday evening Mass, I believe.

In addition to Mass, the Catholic Center has a variety of functions, like Thursday night socials, attending USC football games, Retreats, Music Ministry, Homeless Ministry and RCIA, just to name a few.

A short distance from campus is St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and they have daily masses and the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession).
Their website is http://www.stvincentla.org/

There's a new Catholic student organization starting up on campus next semester. I'm an officer, so for anyone who is interested, send me a message for more information!

I'm interested in hearing about the new Catholic organization...

I'd like to hear more about it too :)

The new Catholic organization is tentatively called "Lux Mundi" (Latin for "Light of the World".) We are working towards gaining university recognition next semester. For now, we meet once a week to discuss Catholic issues and reflect on the Gospel Reading from Mass. The activites we plan to have next semester include doing service projects, having a Rosary group, and holding social type events. The organization is still very much in its planning stages, but we feel that it would serve the USC population very well, considering that there are only two Catholic groups right now and USC's student population is 30% Catholic according to demographics. We will have our regular meetings next semester, so send me an email (in my profile) to be updated.
