Hi everyone,
I’ll be applying to schools in the fall and am wondering what I should put down on my college applications under the religion section. I’m Catholic, but unconfirmed and unsure about my faith. Does what you put down impact your application? How does this vary among public schools, private schools, and historically religious schools (ex. Georgetown)? Thanks!
I’d put it down for a Catholic school. Some do give a slight admissions tip. It won’t hurt or help you elsewhere.
I don’t think that putting down a religion could hurt your application in any way. Saying you’re Catholic could potentially help you get into a private Catholic school just by the slightest bit, but I don’t think colleges care for the most part. Plus, it’s not like you are going to show up to the college and be quizzed about the religion you put on the application.
