Religious Essay?

<p>My essay talks about how the teachings of a religion affected me and made me a better person. My English teacher said that it might not be a good idea to include a religious theme in my essay. However, I made sure I didn't preach my religion and I didn't even mention God. I just talked about how the religion's teachings changed me and I did not promote the religion in any way.</p>

<p>So what do you think? Would adcoms frown upon such a "religious" essay?</p>

<p>I wrote an essay about Jesus and how his teaching affected me. I’m not a Christian and probably never will be. Write about what matters to you personally. Admission officers aren’t atheists in the closet. They want to know you. And if they can see you better through your religion, then all the better.</p>
