Religious?

How religious is DePaul? I know it is a Catholic University, but how would you describe the atmosphere at DePaul?

They make you take 2 religion type classes, but not necessarily about Christianity. I’m pretty sure they offer a lot of different options and most are just informing you about the religion’s customs and history and stuff, not trying to get you to practice it. I think the school definitely attracts some Catholic kids, but a lot of kids from different religions or who are not religious at all. It is in a big city, so there are a lot of outside influences and different views all around you. I’ve heard that DePaul tends to lean toward being more liberal than conservative overall.

I visited DePaul a few months ago and my tour guide (she was a student) made it clear that DePaul was open to many religions. I know they have a very diverse student body.

I also read somewhere that DePaul was voted the “least catholic” catholic school.
Hope this helps.

DePaul is not very religious from what I’ve experienced thus far. As someone mentioned above, the student body is very diverse so as you would imagine, DPU students come from different religious backgrounds.

Thanks for replying!
