Religiousness

Hi!

I’ve been looking into Boston College recently, and it looks like a great school! However, I have some reservations.

I have read that Boston College is a Roman Catholic jesuit school. I attend a Catholic high school, but consider myself an agnostic atheist. Would either of these details make a difference at BC? For example, would the college “hold it against me” in terms of admittance or scholarship offers?

Also, how religious is the student body? I have no problem with religious people at all, but I think I would be uncomfortable in an environment where religion is a significant part of the curriculum or social life. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

I’ve been here for about two weeks, and I do not feel any sort of intense religious vibe from the student body. Most of my classmates are liberal and open to all backgrounds.

Hi moustache,

This has been commented on quite a bit. If you do a “Search this Forum” (right above the views/replies at the top of the page) and search “religion” you’ll find a lot of threads where this has been discussed.
