Remedial Classes F, D, Ws

lol ok so heres the story. I have a 2.8 gpa... the classes that i got a F, D, W's are NOT NOT NOT prerequisites for my major. my major is psychology. i am going to apply to UCLA this November. Most of those fails came from remedial mathematics classes. THEY ARE NOT UC TRANSFERABLE but yea... i know they look at everything. Ive finished everything for psych except for statistics which im going to take this fall =/

any ideas/opinions?

I did poorly in one of those non-transferable courses and it voided my TAG with UC Davis, though I did get accepted to UC Irvine. Anyway, these classes don’t count toward your UC transferable GPA.

What about academic renewal?

Ehh. Even tho they aren’t perquisites for your major your gpa is still pretty low for a psych major. Average admitted gpa last year was a 3.8 and it’s the most impacted major in the school Unless you’ve gone through really tough scenarios or trauma in your life your chances are slim

So that 2.8 is the non transferable gpa? What’s your transferrable

i wouldnt worry unless you are considering Cal or other high ranked private schools. i had 4W’s, 3F’s, 1C and was admitted to UCLA engineering. last year, the average gpa of admitted students for my major was 3.86, and 10% admit rate, so I was not expecting acceptance at all. 2F’s were in non-transferable classes(ESL) and the other F was renewed after i retook the class and got A. i did really really poor in my first year, WWF in one semester, and did ok in my second year, but i had straight A’s for my last year in which I took 16 units of major classes each semester.
