Lately, the mods have had to remove or move a lot of off-topic threads from this forum. While we do allow fairly wide latitude considering the general nature of the topic, many of these have been unrelated to the topic, referred to other members, miscellaneous chit-chat, etc.

In the interest of our "micro-communities" we often let one or two OT threads like games stand - when half the threads are OT, though, that's a problem.

I'm glad others experienced the same thing...I just went down from about 1800 to 1300. They could have at least moved the topics as opposed to obliterating them.

Once they move the threads to the Cafe, your posts go down because your posts there don't count. I was by 890 something and now I'm down to 600 something.

I'm all for interesting threads, but when it becomes crazy (and let's be honest, this IS collegeconfidential.com), things need to be cleaned up a bit.

I actually admit that I also support Billhpike's idea...a serious forum (HS Life) and a blowoff chat forum (the HS Cafe) which would not have the parents frequenting it, nor people who are looking to start a fight (evident a lot on the CC Cafe).
