Reminder about the HS Life Forum

Lately, the mods have had to remove or move a lot of off-topic threads from this forum. While we do allow fairly wide latitude considering the general nature of the topic, many of these have been unrelated to the topic, referred to other members, miscellaneous chit-chat, etc.

The Cafe is available for posts not related to high school academic, EC, and social topics. Thanks for everyone's cooperation.

I still believe random behaviors and off-hand remarks epitomize HS.

To the cafe! Mebbe...

In the interest of our "micro-communities" we often let one or two OT threads like games stand - when half the threads are OT, though, that's a problem.

What's the big deal? I think it's pretty stupid how we can't post one random topic in the hs forum. Hmm maybe it's time to leave lol

Whoa my post count just when down to the 400's and it was in the 700's. Anyone know what happened?

I'm glad others experienced the same thing...I just went down from about 1800 to 1300. They could have at least moved the topics as opposed to obliterating them.

^ me too - I thought I had 1800 odd posts before.

I'm very disappointed with this system.

Once they move the threads to the Cafe, your posts go down because your posts there don't count. I was by 890 something and now I'm down to 600 something.

I'm very mad, by the way!

lol olive tree

It's not funny!

J/K

Time to start posting in reasonable threads.

This is why I initially advocated for a limitation of threads. I'm glad to see that someone's monitoring the forum.

^ Agreed.

I'm all for interesting threads, but when it becomes crazy (and let's be honest, this IS collegeconfidential.com), things need to be cleaned up a bit.

I am glad someone is actually monitoring these forums.

Aaah, the good ol' days of 2003 when everyone was so serious on the H.S. life forum.

I'm glad too. Except for my birthday thread. :(

Actually, it got deleted instead of moved... don't know why.

^ That's because it obviously wasn't relevant to HS Life (according to the moderators).

At least it didn't get deleted.

What are you talking about? I don't go a day in high school without thinking about theoneo's birthday..

I don't either!

Can we have a High School Cafe.

I actually admit that I also support Billhpike's idea...a serious forum (HS Life) and a blowoff chat forum (the HS Cafe) which would not have the parents frequenting it, nor people who are looking to start a fight (evident a lot on the CC Cafe).
