Reminder: Apply by November 1st!

Very important to get your application in today if you have any interest in The University of Maryland College Park.

A significant percentage of the admitted freshman come from the priority application pool, and scholarships/honors college offers only go out to those that applied priority.

Happy Halloween!

My D is applying, but she didn’t send her SAT scores until this past Monday. I emailed the admissions office to ask if it would jeopardize her chances at Honors College. When I didn’t hear back, I called and was told the SAT scores need to be postmarked by 11/1, so everything should be OK. The admissions officer then emailed me back today and said the scores need to be received by the school by 11/1. So I’m getting conflicting information here. Anyone know the reality?

I’m pretty sure you’re fine. I think they just need to be postmarked by that date

Thanks, Yellowdog.

Think only application has to be received by 11/1

I would make you to get the application in, and call in a day or so and make sure everything is there. That way if there was a “blip” that wasn’t your fault they will likely still include your app in the priority pile.

Submitted everything a week ago! Can’t wait till I get back a decision.

When do decisions come out?

Priority Application Deadline
Apply by this date for best consideration for admission to the university as well as consideration for merit-based scholarships and invitations to special programs.
November 1: You’ll receive a decision by January 31 if you complete the application by this date. This is not an early-decision program; you will have until May 1 to confirm enrollment.
