<p>I've noticed that a good number of schools have upcoming deadlines for scholarship considerations. Some deadlines are Nov 15, some are Dec 1, and some are mid Dec. </p>
<p>So, if you're considering applying to a school that will give you a merit scholarship for your stats, check to see if there's an upcoming deadline. </p>

<p>P.S. Last year, some ED kids were unhappy with their FA packages, but it was too late to then apply to many schools that had scholarship deadlines that had passed. Don't let that happen to you.</p>
<p>Bump. Yes watch those deadlines closely for each school. If you miss then, then try to get it in as soon as possible afterwards.</p>

<p>Some schools have assured scholarships for stats…BUT…you still must fill out the scholarship app. That is often a surprise to some. So, find out if you have to fill out the scholarship app even if it’s an assured scholarship for stats.</p>
<p>^To add to this important reminder, may I also mention that earlier deadlines for scholarships aren’t necessarily obvious from a casual perusal of a college website. It is important not only to check the application deadline page, but also the merit scholarship pages of each website.</p>
<p>My daughter has 12 colleges on her list of possibilities at the moment. All but five have earlier deadlines for scholarship consideration; of those five, three don’t offer merit scholarships anyway.</p>
