Summer sessions is open to everyone, so sign up now. If you are admitted, your name will be matched to your admitted student ID number and you will automatically receive the credit. No extra work there.

If you are not admitted, all you lose is the registration fee as all the fees are not due until a date that's weeks after admission decisions.

I have some questions regarding summer classes at UCLA, or at any UC for that matter.

Obviously, if we are admitted, we have to turn in our transcript grades (up to spring) in July.

Question #1: Can we take classes from our CC and then submit our summer grades in September?

Question #2: Let’s say I’m not accepted to UCLA, but take summer courses at UCLA. Would the class transfer to another UC?

Question #3: If it’s open to everyone, can you still take summer classes at UCLA even if you’re not admitted to UCLA? (I guess I’m wondering if you could elaborate more on why you would lose the registration fee if you are not admited)

I’m not sure. I suppose a lower division class like Physics or Biology or Calculus would transfer fine. You’d probably just have to check with the other UCs.

You’ll need to pay $150 at sign up, and this is nonrefundable.
Full payment is due by May 21, 2010 for non-UC students only, hence if you don’t get in you just drop all the classes before they start and all you lose is that $150 at sign up.

BTW, you also get a UCLA email address. It’s the username you sign up with after you get your UID, so make sure it’s nice. I have mine in this format: <first name=“”><middle initial=“”><last initial=“”>@ucla.edu .</last></middle></first>

You don’t have to drop the summer classes if you’re not admitted.

I was just explaining how if you don’t get in and want to take summer school at another UC, you can drop all the summer classes you signed up for and only lose $150.
