remote parking

Where is it? The way people talk, it makes it seem like it is on the other side of Mt. Vernon. :o The campus is not that big, is it?

The campus is 1200 acres, so you tell me, the remote lot is about a mile and a quarter from the freshman quad (that’s a really rough estimate).
it’s down past the KAC on the sports fields.

Campus is fairly large, especially if you include the BFEC area. I would only use the remote lot if you plan on using your car a few times a month, or really enjoy the extra time spent walking both ways…I would say it is nearly 20 mins from the frosh quad. Also, the last time I checked the remote lot was of questionable quality pavement(gravel)/drainage wise, so you might want to check on that situation.

Ok.. I was thinking it was the lot at the KAC. Thanks.

Freshmen can only park in the remote lot; however, there are going to be changes to the whole parking situation. Once the construction on the studio art and art history buildings begins, the parking behind the library will be very limited and as a result faculty will have to park in the lewis and norton lots, along with other lots down south. As a result more students (including upperclassmen) will be forced to park in the remote lot. The logistics behind everything haven’t been completely figured out, but they are most likely going to have to expand the remote lot and add lighting because it is pitch black at night. The construction of the studio/art history buildings is going to be delayed for 6 more months (it was supposed to being this summer), so this won’t happen immediately, but just know that this will be an issue in the future. That being said, the remote lot is not as bad as it sounds and Kenyon is a walking campus anyways. Not all first years need to bring their cars and you will more than likely know many people with cars who can drive you around if needed.
