I had my employer for an internship write me a recommendation letter. Unfortunately, he accidentally submitted a draft to the Common Application that wasn’t complete, and had quite a few grammatical errors because English was not his first language. Will all colleges see it when I send my application, even if I unassign him to the colleges that ask for an optional letter of recommendation? Is it possible to resubmit a letter of recommendation?
His grammatical errors have no impact on your admissions. What matters is what he said, not how he said it. He’s not applying.
To answer your question: where did he submit it? In my school, my husband’s and my kids, letters are submitted to the high school as part of the whole packet they’ll eventually send out. If that’s how it was done, it should be absolutely no problem to submit a corrected version.
That’s correct. They aren’t grading his work.
Agree – colleges are concerned about what the LOR says about you, not how it is written.
He said he included typo’s like “20117” instead of “2017”. Regardless, he’s already submitted it to the Common Application. Will colleges not see it if I just unassign him from the individual colleges?
Again it is what the teacher says about you that is most important.
