I know this is probably a dumb question, but is it possible to remove classes from your GPA? My school required me to take some elective high school classes in 8th grade (it’s a K-12 school) and so I have credits that I don’t even need. One of them is like a Gaming Design class that I was practically forced to take part in. I didn’t know it was going to count for high school.
This is a stretch, but I also took Soccer this year, thinking it was good for me (and it was, physically). But the alternative was taking a free class period. I thought taking a class was a smarter idea, but not I’m kind of regretting it. Would it be possible to just remove that somehow? It’s not like I need that credit. And I got a 100 in the class. It’s just screwing up my GPA.
(This probably sounds like some overachieving kid that’s been blessed with an amazing education, but lives a perfectionist life. Well, it’s true. So please don’t say “suck it up, it’s still an A.” I was just curious as to how everyone else thinks about it).
You would need to ask your HS, who will probably say no, and rightly so, IMO. Otherwise, everyone would just want to remove classes from their transcript where they didn’t like the grade. Be prepared for their reaction, though, which will be:

It would be crazy if you could remove a bad class from your GPA. Then, everyone would remove all the bad classes from their GPA.
For a smart kid, that appears like a really stupid thing. If you take high school electives in middle school, it should be assumed that they would have counted. Even if you didn’t know, you should still have asked.
Just be grateful you got a 100 in the first place.
To be fair, this really depends on the HS. My own HS listed the coursework taken in middle school on the transcript, but did not record the grades.
But this brings up another point. From a college perspective, they are not going to care what grades you got before 9th grade, even if they were HS courses. Nor will they care what grade you got in soccer (or PE) for any year, as long as you pass.
It really does depend on the high school. At my kids high school nothing counts which is taken before the start of 9th grade. It isn’t mentioned, averaged into the gpa, counted as a credit or counted towards a high school credit. The only exception whatsoever is a summer math class taught at the high school the summer between 8th and 9th grade and even then it just gets you ahead but doesn’t count as meeting 1 of the 4 math credit graduation requirements. Gym and Health is graded and shows up on report cards/transcripts/have finals (no midterm since they are semester courses) but isn’t used towards gpa here.
Different high schools compute GPA in very different ways. Some (or most?) universities are going to recalculate your GPA anyway, using their own formula. A few won’t even consider grade 9 (nor anything prior to grade 9). Thus I would strongly recommend that you don’t worry about it. Do well from now on.
