<p>If you can catch it before the school downloads it, you can remove the teacher. Once the school downloads it, you’ll see that in your common app account and you won’t be able make any more changes.</p>

<p>I tried this, and after I re-added the school, the recommender wasn’t there anymore. Does this mean that the submitted letter was removed from their files?</p>
<p>Once it has been downloaded, the school has it in their system and you can’t remove it other than possibly by contacting them directly.</p>

<p>before you deleted the school, when you checked in your school forms section you would see the status and if the school had ‘uploaded’ it, that’s what it would say.</p>

<p>Even simpler, you may be able to change the recommenders that you chose for that school. Is ‘Delete’ an option beside the teacher’s name on your school forms page?</p>
<p>No, delete wasn’t an option. However, after I deleted and re-added the school, the recommendation disappeared.</p>

<p>It didn’t say “Downloaded” next to the recommendation. It only said “Submitted.” Does that mean the school didn’t download it yet? After I removed the school and re-added, the recommendation was gone.</p>
<p>Sorry this is so late, but did you ever get this issue resolved? The EXACT same thing happened to me and I’ve been panicking all week! Did the colleges still receive your letters after you re-added the schools, or did you have to resend them?</p>
