<p>When and how do you renew your Fafsa every year in college?</p>
<p>I saw that they are only accepting Fafsa for the 2010-2011 year only right now on the website.
Do they send you an email notification or do I just have to wait until the 2011-2012 year opens up?</p>
<p>The FAFSA for next school year will be available on January 1, 2011. When it opens up for filing, complete it. You will have the option of importing the info that hasn’t changed (like your name…etc).</p>
<p>Sometimes the deadlines are later for returning students. But try and do it as early as possible. I was lulled last year and did it a couple of weeks later than the previous years (partly because I was figuring out the new tax credit stuff). That couple of weeks meant my daughter did not get 2 forms of campus based aid that she had received in prior years and ended up with higher loans. You can bet I will be filing early this year.</p>
<p>Check your college website for when the FAFSA (and anything else) is due for financial aid renewal…then submit it all as EARLY as you can.</p>
