Are there any advantages to using Rensselaer's Candidate's Choice Application if you already have everything done on their CommonApp besides the supplement? I've had their school paid for and all the recommendations and school reports done for them through the CommonApp, so is it more worth it to use the CommonApp? And if I use the Candidate's Choice Application, can they use the recommendations, money, and secondary school report that I have already sent through the CommonApp?

The candidates choice had fewer questions, whereas the RPI supplement required more extensive essays.

S used the candidate’s choice app for RPI, the college app for Rose-Hulman, and the common application for everyone else. Therefore he had to take care of recommendations and transcripts separately for RPI and RHIT.

^No…the RPI Supplement had nothing on it, no essays at all.

The Candidate’s choice app actually makes you do stuff, so I just didn’t do it.

Maybe it’s different this year, but last year the Candidate’s Choice application was free and didn’t require an essay.

It is not different this year - S just filled out the Candidate’s Choice in November and it is just as you recall, megmno.

The Candidates Choice I got required payment and a personal statement of at least 250 words.

S is an RPI Medalist, so perhaps that was why his was free.

Yep, my S is also a medalist. He’s very happy there, BTW.
