rensselaer or rutgers

renseelaer is giving me 32 grand in scholarships and grants and 10 grand in federal loans. because rpi costs about 57 grand a year i would have to pay 15 grand a year.
rutgers is giving me 14 grand a year. RU costs 25 grand so i would have to pay about 11 grand a year.
I know its a no brainer to choose rpi.. BUT i feel like rpi is such a great college because of its engineering program but I have been admitted to the business school =/
i hear that rutgers new brunswicks business school is pretty good school and difficult to get into and I have been admitted there..
I eventually want to go to law school. I am scared that rpi might be too rigorous for me and my gpa will be low.
ALSO a hugee concern for me is the rpi campus. i dont mind the girl to boy ratio (30 to 70) even though I am a girl. but.. i hear that it is a very depressing place to live with not much to do and all the students just play video games or study.. I am a very social person that likes to go out and party and have fun! and i know ru is a big party school but rpi wont offer that. help please!! i have until may 1st to choose =/

i hate that ru has a hugeeee campus with buses. i think thats VERY annoying. rpis campus is abs. gorgeous! but kind of boring. =/

You need to run your numbers here: [FinAid | Calculators | Advanced Award Letter Comparison Tool](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid) There also are places where you can include some non-numeric information as well.

I don’t understand how you can have 10k in federal loans. The Stafford maximum for a freshman is only $5,500 is some of that a Perkins loan? Would you need to take on that level of loans each year? If so, you probably can’t afford RPI. 40k in loans would translate to roughly $460 each month in loan payments for ten long years. That is like a second car payment for a fancier car than you would normally buy!

Right now it looks like you prefer Rutgers, buses and all. It is OK to go there, especially if RPI isn’t as affordable for your family.

rpi will cost 4 grand more a year for me but its mainly an issue of rpi being a boring school and yeah its a great school but im goign there for business… its a tech school though =/
