I am so excited about it,also...i also want them to make an aida movie

I can not wait! It will actually have the original cast (except for mimi and joanne), which is amazing

im not sure how i feel about the director (its the guy who did christmas with the kranks)

He also did Harry Potter. But im so excited because I haven't seen it on Broadway and I love Idina and Taye.

I cannot wait for the movie to come out!! I'll probably watch the midnight showing on the opening day (Nov.11!!!).

my friend and i are so excited. we're always annoying our other friends by singing rent songs. :-)

Hahah I've had two RENT phases - each lasting a few months - so far. ALL my friends hate me for singing RENT songs 24/7.

I've also had Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables phases, but people hate them less :P.

I seriously love this show...like...I have such a connection with it. I learned Seasons of Love when I was 8 and its been my favorite song ever since. points to screenname the trailer makes it look awesome, and the new people look incredible. I LOVE the original cast though...I WORSHIP Idina Menzel, seriously.

I'm not too excited for it even though I love the show. I feel like movies usually ruin bway shows. The fact that the OBC is cast at least comforts me a little. Although I was disappointed to hear that Frenchie Davis will not be appearing in the film at all. She's in the ensemble on broadway now, or at least she was in the spring, and she is absolutely amazing. She is the soloist in Seasons of Love, and that final "love" that she holds while the song ends is probably the best vocal moment in the entire show.

all my friends and i are in a frenzy to go watch it! its one of my friend's favorite production of all time, and we listened to it so much in the car i can sing the songs, too. yeah, we'll probably end up doing the midnight showing.. =]

she also wanted to do some sort of 'rocky horror picture show' type of thing with RENT after it comes out on video. she wanted to rent out a small theatre on haight and have the proceeds go to aids relief. it sounds really fun.

thesiren: we're doing AIDA for our spring musical!! lol

I can't wait!!!! It comes out on my birthday. My friends and I listen to musicals 24/7, and RENT is one of our favorites. The Producers, Dreamgirls, and Hairspray are all coming to the movies also. I heart Idina Menzel...Wicked is one of my favorites, too.

Don't get too excited for Dreamgirls...Beyonce?

barfs

Dreamgirls movie? w/ her? hmm.. maybe she'll be good? i don't know.

Seeing Hairspray in august! can not wait.

I have finally found other broadway lovers!

oohhhh yeah...I forgot about Beyonce. She's been terrible in basically every movie I've seen her in. Hopefully they won't let her ruin Dreamgirls. I hear Jamie Foxx is going to be in it.

It seems like they've done as good a job as possible with it, but it's going to be weird to see Rent on the big screen!
Haha, I got so excited when I saw this thread!
