Rental Car saga

When we do weekly rentals out of Boston (Hertz corporate retiree discount, very high airport fees), it comes to less than $50 a day. But… I am sure if we rented for a single day it would cost more.

I just looked at the website and there are plenty of cars under $50/day. I like that you can add other drivers and not have to pay a fee for that.

Usually Turo isn’t available at an airport so you either have to get to the car or have the car get to you. I think it is a good deal if, like vwlizrd’s son, they can use the same rental over and over, but I’ve heard not good things about the cars not being as advertised, much like a B&B, so now you could be 20 miles from the airport and don’t want that rental.

In the same town I think it would be good.

That may depend on where you are. For Denver, some of them list the airport as the location.

I’ve checked Turo multiple times when comparing Costco rental prices. I’ve never found them cheaper, but it may be specific to the areas we search. I’m also concerned about insurance. Our credit card is primary (for damage - not liability) with any major car rental company. Not sure if it covers private lending. Adding the Turo insurance would only make it even more expensive.

They might pick you up like an Uber would, but there is no lot or rental desk. The airport is 10 miles from the highway.
