Renting textbooks before classes start

Hello, I've been doing some research on where to get my textbooks for the cheapest out of pocket and some of them are actually a much better deal if I rent them (20% of the retail price). The problem is I don't want to be stuck starting classes without them so I would like to order them as soon as possible for the best prices. Also, when I go to rent the books the automatic due date is way to early and I can't change it.

Is there any way or website that will let me rent the books now and postpone delivering them to me or something like that? Or do I have to buy or wait until the semester starts?

you can go to Amazon and try to find the appropriate books. I think the prices on Amazon is reasonable.

I always rent from amazon and with a student email you get 6 free months of prime which includes 2 day shipping.

I have never had an issue with extending a rental but I strongly suggest against buying books before class as many times teachers will say you don’t need it. With prime you can go the first day and have the book by the next class.

Most schools have textbook on reserve in the library, you can use while awaiting delivery of rented books, if needed.

Have you tried Half.com? They sell used textbook and most of them are considerably cheap.

Try Chegg.com

D’16 is taking a class this fall. I rented the book from amazon. She already has it. Check the return by date to be safe.
