renting textbooks

:: Welcome to Skoobit ::

anyone else interested? I'm planning on doing this for classes i don't care about (math, mmw, etc)

WOWWWW that is such a good idea! Thanks!

Is it just me, or does it kind of seem like a scam? They plan a tree for every book we rent? WHAT?

coolguy90- LOL it just means that we're saving trees everytime we don't order brand new books. in other words, we're not wasting/cutting down trees if we reuse the same textbook over and over.

Renting at $11/book/month:

say you have 4 classes, each one wants 1 book.

= $44/month x 3 months = $132 for the quarter.

For that, why not just buy used books online, then if you get too lazy to resell online or to other students, sell back to the bookstore. You can def. "lose" less money that way.

I've never lost money selling back the bookstore because I've been really good about looking out for deals for used books online (half, amazon). In fact, I've made money (unless I opted to keep the textbooks).

seriously, other options include checking the books out on reserve or borrowing from friends who already finished the class, or just sharing a textbook with your roommates.
