<p>I have a friend who was declined from Duke, but since they're big on alumni, his sister wrote them a letter and he got accepted. (pfffff, i know). There was a section on another college site about repealing declines -is that even possible? You'd think that once you're rejected -move on. </p>

<p>You mean appealing rejections. Some large publics (for example: <a href=“https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/AppealsFr.htm[/url]”>https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/AppealsFr.htm</a>) have a standard procedure for appealing rejections. </p>
<p>At most top privates (HYPSM and the like) the decision of the admissions committee is final unless important information in your file was misinterpreted (i.e. unfamiliar transcripts or misfiled transcripts) or missing.</p>
